General Announcements

Anyone wishing to volunteer for an NCS slot for the Harford County ARES or RACES net should contact Pat Scolla, WB0EGR. Our desire and intention is to have every member rotate through regularly as net control. Scripts and documentation are on the EmComm Yahoogroups files section in an appropriately labeled folder. The more you do it, the more comfortable you get, and we would like all to be capable and comfortable being net control.

Please advise Pat Scolla via email at the end of a month of any formal training you have started, are in progress, or have completed during the previous calendar month. This is needed to go into our activity report to EOC management.

Congrats to all who complete training. EmComm Level 1 training offered by the ARRL, and FEMA IS-700 NIMS introductory courses both are mandatory to ARES and RACES membership. Both are available online. Ask Pat Scolla if you have any questions on the training. The IS-700 class is an easy one or two evening session. EmComm Level One is 8 weeks typically, though it's been done in less (and more) time by many.
