Harford County SKYWARN - Severe Weather Observation and Reporting
Spotter nets will be held on the 146.775 (-) repeater
Coordinator: Greg Karwacki, KB3GFF
Harford County SKYWARN is a National Weather Service (NWS) program of
trained volunteer severe weather spotters. Skywarn volunteers support their
community and government by providing the Baltimore/Washington NWS with
timely and accurate severe weather reports. These reports, when integrated with
modern NWS technology, are used to inform communities of the proper actions
to take as severe weather threatens.
All new members should attend a SKYWARN Basic 1 course when it becomes available. Once completed the NWS will issue you an official "Spotter ID" number. This ID number is required to submit your weather reports - including non-ham spotters. Reports can be sent by a special phone number, by email or by a special amateur radio SKYWARN net.
